Why Duel Was Built: Hate, Love, and Revenge

I built Duel out of hate, despise, and revenge towards the bad actors in this industry. And simultaneously, out of love and care for the gamblers - the retards and degenerates who deserve better than what they're getting.

The world needs Duel as much as junkies need pure product instead of garbage laced with poison. I've been in this space for over 9 years, running CSGOEmpire, the biggest CS skin casino. I've seen it all, and I've been utterly disgusted by most of it.

The scamming. The rigging. The marketing with fake bets. The complete lack of authenticity. Nobody gives a damn about anything except squeezing maximum money from users through whatever deceptive methods work. Duel is the antidote to this toxicity.

Who Is Monarch?

I'm Monarch. For the last 9+ years, I've been running CSGOEmpire, generating 100 million+ per year. Transitioning my focus from Empire to Duel was financially insane - walking away from an incredible cash cow.

But I no longer had passion for it. I achieved what I needed to achieve in the CS casino space. Now I'm going for something bigger and bolder. More important.

For years, I fought against scammers in the CS skin gambling world. I'd say I did a pretty damn good job purifying that space and building a fairer alternative for people to gamble and trade with CS skins.

Now I want to do the same thing but for the entire gambling industry. I'm coming in to purify this space the best I can. I'm going to build the purest and fairest casino that I possibly can, and I'm going to wage war against the shady operators who have normalized scamming.

The cult was founded two years ago and we had quite an insane run, until unfortunately a couple of key cultlords dropped the ball, primarily due to drug-induced psychosis. Recently the cult has been somewhat dormant, waiting for the spark to reach new heights.

Right now my key focus is establishing the foundation of Duel first. After that, we'll go full-on with waking up the cult and waging war against the worst shady operators in this space. The castle is being built - literally and metaphorically.

What Duel Is Fighting Against

Worst of all: scammers. Rigging, withdrawal locks, and deceptive practices have become standard. But one thing I really hate is the fake bets meta that basically all top crypto casinos exploit.

They hire manchild actors who scream at cameras, pretending to win big money even though it's all fake balance. Fake reactions. Fake excitement. Fake gambling. It's psychological manipulation disguised as entertainment.

All of these operators - we want to name and shame them, and shift the meta. On Duel, you can rest assured that when you see someone wagering, whether it's one dollar or one million, it's always real money. Authenticity over all.

How Duel Is Actually Better

First of all - we actually give a damn about users. My top priority is not to make money. It's to treat users fairly. We're extremely transparent, and we don't use overly predatory dark-UX strategies to suck you dry.

Just fair gambling in its purest form. But here's the craziest part: we offer the best odds in casino history. The highest RTP. The lowest house edge. Whatever you want to call it - it's the best odds any casino has ever offered.

On most casinos like Stake and other big names, the highest RTP on house games is 99%. At Duel, we have an obsessive goal to build games with 100% RTP. Currently we stand at 99.9%, with 100% RTP launching in the upcoming weeks.

Even though the numerical difference sounds small, there's a HUGE difference between 99% and 99.9% RTP. The difference is absolutely massive, especially for regular gamblers who will play for years.

The Math: Why RTP Differences Matter

If you gamble with 99% RTP, over the years your odds of being in profit will probably be less than 10%. With 99.9%, it's going to be much closer to the 30-40% range. With 100% RTP, it's going to be very close to 50%.

Basically, if you play games with a house edge, you're nearly guaranteed to lose your money over time. We're building gambling in its purest form where you genuinely have a solid chance to win.

Smart gamblers can entertain themselves without feeling guilty about losing stupid amounts of money in expected value. It's kind of like pure product without side effects - you get the entertainment without the guaranteed long-term losses.

A 100% RTP dice game means 50-50 odds to win x2. Not 49.5-50.5 like on Stake. True 50-50. Fair gambling. The way it should be.

100% RTP: The Technical Challenge

Operating with 0% house edge is extremely hard. Near impossible actually. There's a reason nobody has ever managed to do this before at scale. The variance is brutal.

If we offer 50-50 games against customers, it's practically inevitable that we would go bust sooner rather than later. Even though we're backed by a nine-figure bankroll, even that could be lost if we took an uncapped volume of zero-edge bets.

That's why 100% RTP games will come with limits. We can't let you gamble infinite amounts with zero edge due to the variance it causes. But within reasonable limits, we're making it happen.

This is uncharted territory. We're solving problems that no casino has ever solved because no casino has ever cared enough to try. That's the difference.

How Duel Makes Money

I don't know if this will make money. I think it probably will and I hope so, but that's not the main point. For the most part, this is a passion project.

While most games will operate on near-zero expected value for the house, we still operate slots and some other games. Some games will have a house edge. Even blackjack, which has zero edge with perfect play, will generate revenue from suboptimal players.

Our slots are still better than competitors. It's fundamentally the same game with the same odds, but we give you rakeback worth 50% of the house edge paid. Instantly. No strings attached.

A standard slot has 4% house edge. We instantly give you 50% back, effectively lowering the edge from 4% to 2%. Compare that to Stake's level-up system - a retention mechanism exploiting sunk cost fallacy and giving you less value overall.
